ABOUT ME!

hi! my full name is Megan Larkin, but i also go by Mea (pronounced 'May'.) i am a New Media Studio Artist at the University of North Texas (UNT). i am a nonbinary lesbian and glitch feminist.

since i was four years old, i found myself naturally gravitating towards technology, before it was unavoidable. i was told to be very careful, because technology was expensive and i didn't want to break anything, so i always avoided glitches. but browsing the younger Internet, i found myself fascinated by videos of people playing video games and purposefully breaking their games just to let them be free, and proud.

i want to be free. i want to be proud. my identity evolves and changes like bits gets flipped and change the structure of myself.

i focus on nostalgia, because there's something special about the media you remember for the effect it had on your mind. a lot of my work focuses on video games and early Internet culture because that's what impacted me, what i grew close towards, and what programmed me into who i am today.
